I like Corvette. Singular.
I’m not sure I’m too fond of the guys who make it. Just throw a billion HP in the thing, I’m sure that makes your dick look big. Why would you want that much HP in a tin can from the sixties?

I always kind of liked the look, but wanted to apply it to a smaller, lighter car, especially the roadster version...
Cutting the roof off an old 1st-gen RX7, leaving a B-pillar hoop, and making a Grand Sport Roadster out of one of them would be an interesting build, and not an over-powered show-off piece.

You’re allowed to be wrong.

I wouldn't recommend cutting the roof off a car that wasn't designrd for it unless you add a shit ton of body reinforcement.

It would have to be a full build, including significant chassis reinforcement... a build like that would be intended to make an open-cockpit track-day/race car out of it... barely street legal, if at all, and highly modified for track duty... roll hoop reinforcement under the b-pillar hoop, chassis bracing, under-body bracing... probably even seam-welding the unibody, and modifying the suspension from that stable platform.
Also, there were a handful of custom-coachbuilt 1st-gen RX7 convertibles.
But I am thinking more like this....
with an open cockpit like this.

Shame the RX7 didn’t come as a targa

I have to admit I’m a fan of C2 roadsters with roll bars for racing. They tickle the same fancy that the Shelby Cobras do.
